Current Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney Billy Joe Nelson was named to replace Robert L. Russell III, who has retired from the bench. Another vacancy, opened when Glen Cheney retired, has been filled by Bryan County attorney Charles “Brad” Dixon.
