The Long County Blue Tide golf team is off to a hot start on the 2024 season and on Tuesday, March 5, they got their home slate started. They took on the Bryan County Redskins in a match at Cherokee Rose Country Club.

The boys defeated the Redskins to get their first win of the season with a 195-204 win. They were paced again by low medalist Rence Skipper, who matched his career low with a 39.

Skipper was helped by Tyler Barton, Alex Valdes, and Kevin Smith. They shot a 51, 52, and 53 respectively in the win.

The Lady Tide moved to 2-0 on the year with another dominant win, beating the Lady Redskins 168-194. Savannah Wells was the leader for the Lady Tide as she shot a 52.

Wells, according to head coach Patrick Eastlake, was “hitting her driver better than ever.”

Arryan Vaughn shot a 55 and Gracyn Dasher shot a 61 to round out the winning score for the Lady Tide.
