State and Long County authorities are investigating what they are saying was a homicide Friday night or Saturday morning.
The body of Bill Greenwood, 49, was found in Long County Saturday morning.
According to Long County Sheriff's Department Chief Det. Ty Smith, he received a call from the Ludowici Police Department Dispatcher at 9 a.m. Saturday that a body was in a yard at Aaron's Mobile Home Park.
Smith said after he arrived at the park, the body of 49-year-old Bill Greenwood was found between his mobile home on Lot #17 and an adjacent mobile home.
The detective said the cause of death appears to be a gunshot would to the head, and that a full investigation was under way.
Smith said the time of Greenwood's death had not been determined and that there was little information about evidence to release.
Wilma Gaskin, who owns Aaron's, said she was called to identified Greenwood's body. He had rented from her for several years.
"He's been a very good tenant," she said, "never caused any problems."
The detective did say Greenwood's body had been taken to the Crime Lab in Savannah, and that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was assisting with the investigation.
The mobile home park is off Arnold Drive, in the eastern part of Long County.
"We are currently trying to get a timeline as to the deceased activities, and trying to find out who may have seen him last," the detective said.
"If anyone has any information on this, please call the Long County Sheriffís Department, and ask for me, or they can contact the GBI in Kingsland." Smith said.

Gaskins said Greenwood worked as a mechanic, mostly on projects brought to his residence.
She said most of the homes in the park are not occupied now because of the deployment of the 3rd Infantry Division to Iraq.
