Fort Stewart hosts the sights and sounds of the ’70s funk/soul band the Commodores during a free concert tonight.
The concert is scheduled as one of a variety of events scheduled for the military families to enjoy during the annual Marne Week celebration, but it is open to everyone.
Country music star Keni Thomas will open the concert, which starts at 7 p.m. on Donovan Field.
The Marne Week events began Tuesday with a division run and several other sporting activities. So far, the week has featured a truck rodeo, a kiddie carnival and a static display of military equipment and 3rd Infantry Division history.
Activities concluded Friday at 2 p.m with a closing ceremony on Cottrell Field. The carnival will continue until from 4 p.m. to midnight at Walker Field.
This year’s event celebrates the 3rd Infantry Division’s 91st birthday.
