Lady Tide on 8-game winning streak, boys still struggling

The Long County High School girls' basketball team extended its winning streak to eight on Friday by beating St. Vincent's Academy, 58-51. Before that, the ladies beat region opponent Bacon County, 47-22, on Tuesday in Ludowici. The victories helped the Lady Tide improve their overall record to 13-4 and their region mark to 4-3. Although those nights were joyous occasions for the girls, the Blue Tide boys suffered a disheartening 60-40 loss to the Raiders and a 56-45 loss to Benedictine Military School, taking their record to 4-11 overall and 1-6 in the region.
