BRUNSWICK - After suffering an 11-0 defeat to start the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association District 2 softball tournament, the Liberty County Recreation Department's Mite team won two straight games Thursday before being eliminated by Douglas late Thursday afternoon.

Hurricanes win second pre-season game

The Hinesville Hurricanes defeated the CSRA South Carolina Cobras 20-14 on June 16. Timothy Sapp had an interception, 100 yards combined offense and defense and a touchdown. Joseph Matavao, Jamie Sharp and William Hearndon also scored touchdowns, while Raphael Duncan had about 15 carries for 100 yards.
