National parks thank military with free passes

To show appreciation for those who serve in the U.S. Military, on May 19 – Armed Forces Day – the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will begin issuing an annual pass offering free entrance for active duty military members and their dependents to Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and every unit of the Refuge System, as well as National Parks and other public lands.

Childcare service is available on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. As of May 11, available spaces at Fort Stewart were two infants, 58 pre-toddlers, 42 toddlers, six preschoolers, 35 school age children, and three middle school/teens. On Hunter, space was available for 25 pre-toddlers and two toddlers. Additionally at Hunter, summer camp vacancies are 50 school age children and 38 middle school/teens.

‘Vanguard’ spouses lose to win
