Though they may be deployed thousands of miles from home, soldiers, sailors and marines often get the chance to send greetings to loved ones, friends and supporters through the armed services' Digital Video and Imagery Distribution System.

Here's how to view the ones from our area:

• Find the name of the person whose message you'd like to hear. The names are listed below, but do not include links so look on the video player at left.

• Scroll through the names by hitting the View Next and Previous buttons under the player.

• When you find the right name, click on the screen of the video player, or click on "View larger" under the player. The message should start soon after that.

If we get enough requests, and properly formatted videos, we'll consider posting greetings from people here to deployed soldiers. For information on that send an email to webbed@coastalcourier.com.
