Darien Georgia is having an Independence Day celebration Saturday, July 5 at Darien Waterfront Park. The event will feature blues music by McIntosh County's own Vic Waters and his band. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m., Riverbend, a unique bluegrass Boulder Colorado group, takes the stage. At 9:30 p.m. a fireworks display will take place over the Darien River. Bring your food, beverages, chairs, blankets and relax in the breeze on the river.
$10 admission for 13 years-adult; $5 for 6-12 years; 5 and under are free. Advanced tickets are available by calling 912-437-6684 or at the Chamber in Darien.
