Fans of sweet, smoky barbecued pork and chicken have a new reason to lick their lips. Shane’s Rib Shack barbecue restaurant is planning to open a franchise in Hinesville in December.
A spokesperson for the company said three multi-unit franchise owners, Patrick Hopkins, Bruce Wetford and Russell Rosengart, are taking over the old Burger King location at 300 W. Gen. Screven Way.
Shane’s Rib Shack was started in 2002 in McDonough by Shane Thompson. Its regional presence includes 42 locations in Georgia, including Brunswick, Statesboro and St. Simons. The Rib Shack’s signature menu items are a big sandwich and a secret sauce that accompanies just about everything.
The spokesperson says the new location is one of a handful of new franchises opening in Georgia and South Carolina. Hinesville seemed like “a great location,” she said.
The company expects to post ads asking for job applications in the next few weeks, though the number of employees who will be hired is not known.
