A second arrest was made this week in the rash of burglaries reported in the Twin Oaks apartment complex in Ludowici.
According to Ludowici Police Department Investigator Sal Genualdi, on Sunday a Ludowici police officer pulled over a 2001 Crown Victoria at around midnight for excessively loud music. The driver, Kendrix Jamel McKinnon, 19, of Hinesville, gave the officer permission to search the vehicle.
The officer found a .25 caliber Browning handgun, which had been reported stolen from a unit at Twin Oaks.
McKinnon was taken to the police station where Genualdi said he told officers the gun was his. He was arrested.
McKinnon’s arrest was the second in two weeks following five reported Twin Oaks burglaries during the first week of June.
On June 12, Jeremy Javon Boyd, 19, of Ludowici was the first person arrested for one of the burglaries, and Genualdi said he expects more arrests in the near future.
Anyone with information about the burglaries at Twin Oaks apartments should call the Ludowici Police Department.
