The child injured in an apparent drive-by shooting Saturday evening has been released from the hospital, Hinesville Police report.

The 5-year-old was injured in what police are describing as a drive-by shootings Saturday at about 6:30 p.m.
Hinesville Police Det. Tracey Howard said the child, who has not been identified, was taken to Memorial University Medical Center.
Sunday, police reported the child had been treated and released.
Details of the crime were sketchy, but Howard did say the child was at a residence in the 200 block of Pointe South Drive when he was struck in the leg by a bullet.
Police are not releasing the name of the child, nor whose residence he was at.
