The National Park Service is having a free weekend at national parks across the United States, including Fort Pulaski National Monument in Savannah
Tough economic times call for economical fun, and America’s 391 national parks offer family time, fresh air and opportunities to learn about the nation. On June 20-21, park entrance fees will be waived for all national park visitors.
With many Americans facing financial hardships right now, park represenatives are hoping the promotion helps out by making it easier to visit a national park, to bring your family for a day or weekend of fun.
Fort Pulaski superintendent Randy Wester said, “We are thrilled to offer a special weekend — Father’s Day weekend — as a perfect time to come and experience the incredibly vibrant history of Fort Pulaski and its role in our national history.” Fort Pulaski offers opportunities to learn about Georgia’s Civil War past including a junior ranger program, cannon and musket firing, and guided tours.
